Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through one, we may earn a commission, and it costs you nothing extra.
How we mark them
- A link that may pay us is labeled "affiliate link" right next to it, or in a note directly above it, before you click. We do not hide this in the footer alone.
- Affiliate links carry
rel="sponsored nofollow"so search engines know they are paid links. - Recipes that include any affiliate link say so at the top.
How this affects what we recommend
- We pick tools first, then look for an affiliate program. A tool with no program can still be our pick, and a tool with a generous program can still be left out.
- A commission never buys a recommendation, a better placement, or a softer review. We name downsides and limits.
- If we are ever paid directly by a company, given a free account, or have another relationship with it, we will say so on the page.
- Many tools in recipes are free, or have free plans. We tell you which parts cost money.
Where the money goes
Commissions help cover hosting, tools, and the time it takes to test recipes. Not all of our links pay us, and we do not earn anything from every sign-up.
Amazon and other programs
If we join a program with its own required wording, such as the Amazon Associates program, we will add that exact wording here and on the pages it applies to.
This follows the US Federal Trade Commission's rules on endorsements. Questions about a link? Write to us from the contact page. More on how we choose and test tools is on our How we test page.
